Psychologists and financial analysts explore the relationship between rising inflation and happiness

Only 10% of our happiness is due to life circumstances, including income, and 50% is due to the individual baseline level of happiness, which is determined at birth. In other words, some people are simply naturally happier than others, and income is not as important as we might expect, according to psychologists. At the same time, 40% of our happiness is due to the activities we do to be happier, which are in turn conditioned by money.

The relationship between money and happiness will be explored by experts in the debate.
Topics to be discussed:

  • How much does material wealth matter to be happy
  • Is financial independence a utopia? Who can achieve it and at what cost?
  • Investing in times of stagflation (high inflation and economic stagnation): capital markets, real estate, gold, bank deposits, crypto-currencies, currencies. Returns and associated risks.

Guest speaker Dragos Cabat will announce the publication of The Pyramid of Happiness, which will see the light of print soon.

“Secularised happiness is inaccessible to people without a decent level of material possessions. But above this income threshold, happiness or unhappiness is a personal matter, which cannot be influenced by money or material goods”, said Dragoș Cabat, shareholder and managing partner of risco.ro, a financial analyst with over 25 years of experience.

The host of the event is entrepreneur Manuela Meleandra, founder of Lingua TranScript with the Lingua Events division, graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, teacher, trainer and certified translator with 25 years of experience, who holds an MBA completed in 2011 in German language and benefits from more than 15 years of experience in the corporate language services market.

The debate will be moderated by Miles Kentish, a qualified English language lecturer who has taught business English in Romania and other countries. The specialist will also offer recommendations at the end of the session on 26 May on some of the English vocabulary and grammar concepts used by participants.
